CURRENT UPDATE - A Hunter's Wake Up Call with Luke Wiedel

As elk populations decline in several parts of Colorado, we discuss how several proposed recreational trails may impact those populations.  Luke Wiedel has been researching the Mad Rabbit Trails Project (https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd568373.pdf), located near Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and details this project and how it may affect the local elk herds.  He is joined by Outback Outdoors’ Head of Production, Garrett Drach.  Luke has written articles on the matter on Hunt to EAT website and contributes to Keep Routt Wild, and is asking hunters and other concerned citizens to get involved by writing to the decision makers.  Luke wears many hats in life, including owner of a fishing guiding business in Alaska, and as the Merchandise Chair of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation-Denver Chapter.  Other topics discussed: fishing off the coast of Alaska, how the RMEF Denver Chapter Banquet operates and why it is important to introduce kids to conservation activities.
